On the dais

and in the rows of seats _

everywhere men and women,

including those invisible in the empty ones,

each a separate horizon

simultaneously, in unison

each intent on playing the assigned role

to perfection….

Friend

Foe

Freak

Fool…

Hole after hole we dig

deep and deeper

but to unearth never

the whole….

Curtain raises;

Words flow -

Torrential;

Terribly superficial;

Heartfelt;

Hyperboles;

Sensible;

Sweet nonsense;

Slightly sarcastic;

Sugar-coated;

Bitter-tinged;

Hope-filled;

Heartrending;

Faces with hearts reflected

Wholly or partly

Fill the auditorium....

As everything else

this show too comes to a close.

Accompanied by melting moments

I step into the lane;

with night glistening

start walking in the rain.

அரங்கம்

மேடையில் _

கீழே வரிசையாக இருந்த இருக்கைகளில் _

எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் ஆண்களும் பெண்களும்,

அங்கிருந்த காலி நாற்காலிகளில்

அருவமாயிருந்தவர்கள் உட்பட…..

ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு தனி தொடுவானம்

அதே சமயம், ஒருங்கிணைந்தும்.

அவரவருக்கென்று தரப்பட்டிருக்கும் பாத்திரத்தை

அப்பழுக்கற்று நடிக்கும் அதிமுனைப்போடு…..

முட்டாள்

குழி குழியாய்த் தோண்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம் நாம்

ஆழமாய் இன்னும் ஆழமாய்

ஒருபோதும் முழுமையை அகழ்ந்தெடுக்கலாகாமல்

திரை மேலேறுகிறது;

சொற்கள் பொங்கிப்பாய்கின்றன;

வெள்ளமாய்

கள்ளமாய்

அதி மேலோட்டமாய்

ஆத்மார்த்தமாய்

உயர்வுநவிற்சிகள்;

பக்குவமானவை;

இனிய உளறல்கள்;

சிறிதே எள்ளலுடன்;

மேலே இனிப்பு தடவப்பட்டவை;

கசப்புத் தோய்ந்தவை;

நம்பிக்கை தளும்புவன;

இதயத்தை பிளப்பன.

தத்தம் இதயம் முழுமையாகவோ பகுதியளவோ

பிரதிபலிக்கின்ற முகங்கள்

அரங்கை நிறைக்கின்றன.

எல்லாவற்றையும் போலவே

இந்த நிகழ்வும் முடிவுக்கு வருகிறது.

உருகும் தருணங்களோடு

குறுகலான சந்தொன்றில் நுழைகிறேன்.

இருள் மின்ன

நடக்கலானேன் மழையில்.
